Spence WBL Student of Month

Keisley Spence, a Thomas County Central High School senior employed by BellaMoon Boutique through the Work-Based Learning program, has been named WBL Student of the Month for February.

Work-Based Learning coordinator Michelle Ausley, who has taught Spence for two years, said the senior “demonstrates integrity and determination to the fullest.”

“She is always doing her best in all subject areas, as well as her duties and responsibilities within the workplace,” Ausley said.

Employer Cindy Weier, owner of BellaMoon Boutique, is impressed with Spence’s work attitude.

“From the moment Keisley started with BellaMoon, she has had a smile on her face and a positive attitude,” Weier said. “Customers enjoy her fun sense of style and her cheerful attitude towards fashion.  Keisley works well with her co-workers and is not afraid to ask questions.”

Spence said she enjoys working at the boutique.

“I love being able to meet new people, and help them with fashion advice,” she said.

The honoree also said the WBL program has been a benefit to her.

“The WBL program has opened my eyes to skills I learned in the classroom but never thought I would actually use in my daily routine on the job,” she said.

After graduation, Spence plans to pursue or her dream of modeling Sylvia's Modeling Agency in Valdosta. But, she has other ambitions, too.

“In May of 2016, I am also in hopes of getting accepted in the Delta flight attendant school in Atlanta because I have a free spirit and love to travel,” she said.
