End of Course testing information

Dear Parents;

Milestones End of Course testing is quickly approaching. Thomas County Central High School will begin testing on Monday, April 30th, and we would like you to be aware of some important dates.

The testing schedule is as follows:

Monday, April 30               Geometry & Algebra Part I (Paper/Pencil)

Tuesday, May 1                  Geometry & Algebra Part II (Paper/Pencil)

Tuesday, May 8                  9th English Literature and American Lit Part I (Chromebook)

Wednesday, May 9            9th English Literature and American Lit Parts II & III (Chromebook)

Tuesday, May 15                Biology, Physical Science, (Paper/Pencil), Economics (Chromebook)

Thursday, May 17              US History (Chromebook)

Make up testing is scheduled the day after each regularly scheduled test.

Students taking the Social Studies and Language Arts Milestones will be tested electronically using their Chromebooks. Teachers will be sharing resources with the students to familiarize them with online testing (including how to use available tools during testing (like highlighter, cross-out, etc.) You may also practice at home by linking to EOC Milestones Resources online. During the testing period, it will be important for all students to bring their Chromebooks to school with at least an 80% charge.

In addition, students will not be allowed to have their cell phones in the testing environment; this is a state testing rule. The school will provide envelopes for all electronics and collect them prior to testing. They will be returned at the conclusion of the test. Any student who has a phone in the testing environment once the exam begins will have it collected for parent pick-up.

Students late to school on a testing day will be placed in an alternative location and will have to make up their exam at a different time. Once exams begin, students are not allowed to enter the testing environment.

Please make sure your student gets plenty of rest, eats a nutritious breakfast, and arrives at school by 8:00 AM. As a reminder, the End of Course tests will count as 20% of their final grade.

At TCCHS, we are dedicated to providing a safe, orderly, and tranquil testing environment. We know this is a lot of information at once and a stressful time for our students and families. All of the above information, including resources and the testing schedule are now posted on the TCCHS website. Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions or concerns. We appreciate your support and are grateful for the opportunity to teach your student.
