TCCHS goes pink

Members of Archbold Women’s Center “Pink’d” TCCHS for its efforts in honor of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Thomas County Central High School took part in Barberitos’ Pink Chip Day, held in honor of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Pink is the color used to symbolize breast cancer. Members of the school’s yearbook staff sold special T-shirts for students, faculty and staff to wear Thursday, Oct. 25. Those who did not buy a shirt but wanted to participate could wear pink on the day. Faculty and staff members could pay $15 to wear pink with jeans. Also on Thursday, representatives from Archbold Women’s Center “Pink’d” TCCHS for its efforts to support this cause. TCCHS and Barberitos raised $1,460. The money will go to Brave and Beautiful, a program that offers beauty supplies and assists cancer patients who have experienced hair loss, skin changes or other side effects from treatment. It will offer free monthly sessions with a licensed cosmetologist at Singletary Oncology Center.
