Taylor named WBL Student of Month

Parker Taylor, a Thomas County Central High School senior employed by JLLS through TCCHS’s Work-Based Learning program has been named the WBL Student of the Month for October 2014.

Taylor works under the direction of supervisors Matt McElreath and Blake Sumner.

“Parker is a hard worker and very respectful,” McElreath said.

Sumner added, “he is a quick learner and easy to get along with.”

Taylor’s employer Joey Barrow said the youth is a good example for others his age.

“Parker is very smart for his age and sets a good example on a daily basis,” Barrow said. “He shows up for work on time every day and never complains about any job given to him.”

Taylor said he loves working outdoors and likes all of his co-workers. He also thinks Barrow “sets a great example for all of them to follow.”

“I have learned responsibility and strive to do the best job I possibly can,” he said.

Taylor plans to receive a degree in either landscaping design or grounds management of land, forest, and wildlife.
