Character Education Luncheon

Character Education

The State of Georgia has a Character Education program, so in order to be in compliance with the state mandate, the administration and faculty of Thomas County Middle School have instituted a Character Education program.  As part of this program, each team selects one student that has best displayed the Character Education quality of the month.

The character quality for the month of December was CHEERFUL. The students were selected because their teachers recognized them as behaving in a happy and friendly way, and always being noticeably optimistic and positive. Lisa Gilligan, Parent Involvement Coordinator and manager of the Character Education program says, "These students work hard to stay positive and cheerful, even when they don't feel cheerful or positive.  I am so glad that we can recognize their efforts in this way."  Students enjoyed lunch at Diablo's Southwest Grill on December 20, 2017.  Principal Jamie Thompson provides the meal for the students each month.
