TCMS Students Help with SWAYJ

Eighth-grade MERIT students recently delivered blankets that they had collected for the high school's annual Shop with a Yellow Jacket (SWAY J) event. The middle schoolers called their program WULY J, Warm Up a Little Yellow Jacket, with the goal of helping to provide needed items for the children who would be served through SWAY J. Students collected over 140 blankets and numerous pairs of socks.  Because of the great response, blankets and socks were also donated to Homeless Hookup in Thomasville and Hospice of Southwest Georgia.

Middle school students also donated over 350 books for children served through the SWAY J program. Three members of the Reading Bowl team, Walker Cobb, Addison Weiss, and Meghan Moncrief, helped to pass out books; and eighth-grade grade MERIT student, Kaytlyn Prevatt, helped to pass out blankets during the event.
