Nine students in sixth and seventh-grade from Thomas County Middle School recently competed with fifteen other middle schools at Valdosta State University’s Middle School Mathematics Tournament. The seventh grade team came in 2nd place overall in the tournament, and Owen Petrey, also in seventh grade, came in 5th place overall.

Seventh-graders, Hayden Groom and Owen Petrey, along with sixth-grader, Kinsley Rhodes, all finished in the Top 10.
