Sixth Grade Victor MERIT Company recently had a full day of service learning in partnership with Hands on Thomas County. Sixth-graders began the day by volunteering at Hand-in-Hand Primary School where they read to Pre-K and Kindergarten students, helped with craft activities, and played outside with the younger students.
Afterwards, groups of students worked at five different locations, including Hands & Hearts for Horses, Miss Kitty's Feline Sanctuary, Vashti, Cherokee Lake Butterfly Garden, and Second Harvest. Following a morning of service learning, students ate lunch at a local park and then picked up litter around the park.
