Alpha Company Celebrates Georgia Day

On Tues. Feb. 12, 2013, Alpha Company at TCMS celebrated GA Day at School.  The Alpha Team Teachers dressed up like key people who are taught in the 8th Grade Standards.  The GA History Students did projects on John C. Frémont who was chosen by the GA Historical Society as the 2013 Honoree from GA.  The students got to choose between doing a power point, poster, skit, song, or paper on John C. Frémont.  On GA Day, the students presented their projects in their GA History Class.  Alpha Co. also had visitors to help them celebrate the day.  Tommy Harrison, one of our very own retired teachers, came as James Edward Oglethorpe who founded GA.  John Booth, another one of our very own retired teachers from TCCHS, came as President Abraham Lincoln.  Lincoln came to tell about his legacy since Feb. 12th also happened to be Lincoln’s Birthday. The teachers on Alpha Co. are Angie Ellis (GA History Teacher), Denise Heard (Science Teacher), Lisa Gilligan (LA Teacher), Dr. Rhoda Gouin (Inclusion Teacher), Fannetta Powell (Math Teacher) and Mr. Christopher Hunt (GA History Student Teacher).
