 Erica Greek TCMS Alumni!
A strong offense powered with a talented pitching staff could make for a successful season for the Thomas County Central Lady Yellow Jackets.

Highlighted by the return of first baseman Jenna Reeves and sophomore pitcher Erika Greek, Central has the talent to improve upon last year’s 18-9 season.

“I think that we don’t know how good we are,” coach Robyn Trammell said. “I feel like that we are so good, we’re so strong that I just hope that the kids realize how good they are when they go out there to play. I hope they realize they should be confident.”

Central returns seven starters from last year, including Reeves, an all-region performer, and Greek, who pitched in the majority of the Lady Jackets’ games. Along with fellow sophomore hurler Emily Corbitt, Central has a pair of stout aces to count on.

“Erika Greek’s had a great summer,” Trammell said. “She’s throwing hard.

“I’m very excited about the next few years,” Trammell added.

Along with a strong pitching staff, Central features a very tough defense, anchored by Reeves at first base and Corbitt, who will play shortstop and second base. Defense is a top priority at Central.

“I just feel like if you can get them out, sooner or later you’re going to scrape a run across, so defense is mainly my focus,” Trammell said. “I just feel like the kids are going to get a run or two, and we just have to defend it.”
