Nick Herndon, a 7th grade MERIT student, flew to New York over Thanksgiving break for a very special event.  He was granted the request to interview Jackie Robinson's widow, Rachel Robinson, at the Jackie Robinson Foundation.

Herdon is a student in Mrs. Heather Ward's social studies class.  The students are currently conducting research for their National History Day projects.  This year's theme is "Rights and Responsibilities in History."  The region competition will take place on February 21 at Thomas County Middle School.
