Twenty-six students from Thomas County Upper Elementary and Thomas County Middle completed the requirements for the Summer Reading Challenge. These students were treated to an ice cream party in the media center on Thursday, August 21. One student, Laura Hiers, won the drawing for $50.00 to spend at the first book fair of the year. Mrs. Rehberg, media specialist, was very happy with the results of the first ever Summer Reading Challenge for students. She commented, "To have such a large number of students read and write about the books they read over the summer is very encouraging. This was not an easy task! We are all so proud of these students." School administrators congratulated these students on their efforts and encouraged them to keep reading.
