Several Cross Creek Elementary Students participated in this school year’s National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Junior American Citizens Contest.  This year’s theme was Focus on the Future.  Students considered people, events, customs, and traditions that can impact America’s future, and were asked to consider their future roles as citizens in creating entries for the contest. 

Student entries were well thought out and creative in design.  Several categories are available for students to enter including Poster, Stamp Design, Photo Essay, Banner, Poem, Short Story, and Community Service.  Several students placed at the local level, which includes students from each school system in Thomas County.  All first-place winners at the local level were submitted for state competition and 16 first-place winners were named from Cross Creek Elementary School.
