September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Neveah Sloan, 1st grade student in Ms. Pineda's class, was nine months old when she was diagnosed with accute myeloid leukemia and only given a 30% chance of survival. She has undergone 9 surgeries, 4 rounds of cheomotherapy and has received a bone marrow transplant from her sister. Neveah has been in remission since March 5th, 2015! To honor their fellow classmate and friend, students in Community C wore their yellow on Wednesday, September 30th.
