Red, white, and blue decorated the halls at Garrison-Pilcher Elementary  to welcome local Veterans on Veterans Day. Students honored these Veterans with hugs and thank you notes of appreciation for their service. The Veterans talked with students about their time of service and what it means to serve in the military. The students were given opportunity to ask questions and share dialogue with the Veterans. Lunch was also provided for all the Veterans.

“Veterans Day is a special day for our school”, said Sharonda Wilson, GP Principal. “Our teachers, staff and students enjoy welcoming the Veterans of our community to our school.  The activities planned and the lunch provided is only a small token of our appreciation for them and their service.”  "It also teaches our students about the sacrifices these men and women have given”, added Wilson.
