Meet Dara Creech
How many years have you been teaching or worked in education? I graduated from Valdosta State University in December 2005 with an Early Childhood Education degree.  I spent the rest of that school year (2005-2006) working as a paraprofessional for a hearing impaired student.  I began my career as a teacher the following school year (2006-2007) and have been in the classroom ever since.

How many of your years have been spent at Garrison-Pilcher? This is my seventh year at Garrison Pilcher.

What grade levels have you taught or worked with? 1st, 2nd, and 4th

What college did you attend? Valdosta State University (which I'm still attending now as I’m working on my Master’s Degree...will I ever be done...lol?!)

My best day in the classroom was when....I have had many great days in the classroom, but my best days are when my students enter and leave my room with a smile on their face.  I am thankful they are happy when they are at school spending time with me, and I know they are encouraged to do their best work when they feel this way.

Who or what inspired you to become a teacher or to work in education? Great teachers growing up in the Thomas County School System and a love for working with children.

What profession other than your own would you most like to attempt?  I'm content where I am, but I hope to one day put the Master's degree I'm working on to use by being a school counselor.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Spending time with my family, my husband Todd and my two boys Carson and Cooper, reading, going to the beach, and exercising.

What is one thing about you that likely would surprise your students?  I have bungee jumped!

What else would you like to share about yourself or your profession?  I feel blessed to work at this school and with our students.  I feel as though I'm fulfilling my life's purpose by being here.
