December 4-10 is Computer Science Education Week in America. According to csedweek.org, there are currently 486,686 open computing jobs nationwide. Last year, only 42,969 computer science students graduated into the workforce. Students in the Thomas County School System are participating in a variety of coding and computer science activities this week in order to foster an interest in computer science and expand upon computational thinking practices. In addition to the activities this week, students in our system have the opportunity to be a part of a comprehensive computer science education program that spans from grades K-12.
