Junior Class Receives Rings

On August 22, 2013 members of the Class of 2015 received their class rings in a ring ceremony held in the gymnasium. Junior class president Logan Beever welcomed everyone and junior class vice-preseident Austin Bryant lead in an invocation. Class officer Noah Harris led in the Pledge of Allegiance. Class officer Shanika Wright told the origin of the class ring tradition and Lizzie Smith described what a class ring means to her. While class officers Caroline Upton and Austin Bryant called the names of the students receiving their rings, principal Ken Harper congratulated each student and parent. Parents placed the ring on the hand of their student then hugs and endearing words were exchanged by all. Jostens representative Scott Jernigan explained the tradition of turning the ring and the proper direction to wear the ring before and after graduation.
