National Honor Society holds Induction

On Monday, September 23, 2013, new members of the Thomas County Central High School National Honor Society were inducted. Approximately three hundred guests including parents, faculty members and Superintendent Dusty Kornegay, joined the students as they were officially admitted to the TCCHS chapter. The ceremony included music provided by TCCHS band members as well as speakers from the senior National Honor Society membership. New members pledged to uphold the four tenets of the National Honor Society- scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Upon receiving a certificate of membership, inductees signed the TCCHS National Honor Society board, which publicly signifies their pledge. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the cafeteria for all members and guests. To be eligible for membership, students must maintain a ninety plus cumulative average, participate in community service and club events, demonstrate leadership skills, and have an exceptional behavior record.
