FBLA "Three Peats" Region Sweepstakes Trophy

TCCHS is proud to announce that our Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) team has retained the Region I Sweepstakes Trophy, completing a "Three-Peat" in winning all 3 years since the award has been created.

We had a total of 44 students competing in over 50 events ranging from Job Interview to Web Design to Impromptu Speaking and Business Math.  Our students took home 23 First Place metals, 10 Second Place metals, and 11 Third Place Metals competing against 22 other schools from Southwest Georgia.

The individual placings are too numerous to list, but some highlights as to how our students are stacking up against the entire state are as follows:

  • Agribusiness (Bryan Davis)--1st Place in Region-- currently 8th out of 59 in state
  • Business Calculations (Justin Knapp)--2nd Place in Region--currently 19th out of 426 in state
  • Business Communicaiton (Lauren Rich)--1st Place in Region--currently 4th out of 523 in state
  • Business Math (Mason Lawing)--3rd Place in Region--currently 18th out of 409 in state
  • Business Plan (Deana Dabner, Steven Tran, Tyler Williamson)--1st Place in Region--currently 12th out of 31 teams in state
  • Digital Design and Promotion (Stephen Atkinson, Jane Guo, Angel Tran)--1st Place in Region--currently 4th out of 72 teams in state
  • Digital Video Production (Jordan Barrett, Logan Beaver, Mason Lawing)--1st Place in Region--currently 6th out of 35 teams in state
  • Global Business (Noah Harris)--1st Place in Region--currently 19th out of 113 in state
  • Hospitality Management (Savannah Matherly, Lakedra White)--2nd Place in Region--currently 7th out of 74 teams in state
  • Introduction to Business Communication (Jane Guo)--1st Place in Region--currently 3rd out of 447 students in state
  • Personal Finance (Noah Harris)--1st Place in Region--currently 17th out 370 in state
  • Public Service Announcement (Jordan Barret & Vance Stephens)--1st Place in Region--currently 7th out of 32 teams in state
  • Future Business Leader (Tessa McCorkle)--1st Place in Region--currently 13th out of 183 in state--This event is probably the toughest in FBLA as it covers ALL Business classes and subjects from Accounting to Business Communication and Math to Economics
  • Job Interview (Viraj Patel)--1st Place in Region--had some of the highest scores I've ever seen at a conference.  His scores were 100, 100, and 98!!
  • Impromptu Speaking (Bryan Davis)--1st Place in Region--repeated as Region Champion in this event!

Many other students also placed and qualified for state as we will be taking 30 to compete at our state conference. We are looking forward to the FBLA State Leadership Conference and Competition being held at the Atlanta Hyatt Regency, March 13 - 16.
