"We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, some are more popular than others- but they all have to learn to live in the same box." ~ Author Unknown

I graduated with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Art Education in 2004 from Valdosta State University. In 2011, I received my Master’s of Education in Middle/Secondary with a concentration in Art Education. I have been teaching art since 2006.

I love teaching visual arts. I attended a school that did not offer art, which is what lead me to become an art teacher. I wanted to give those right-brained learners like myself a chance to enjoy and experience art. I try to relate each art lesson with the content being taught in the students' academic classes. I also relate each lesson to an artist and period in art history.

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." ~ Pablo Picasso
