Greetings Students!

I am an educator who grew up on a farm in rural Thomas County. At an early age, I decided I didn't want to always work in the scorching hot tobacco field or gather eggs or feed the horses and cows or depend upon the correct weather to grow crops.  So, I set educational goals to change my situation!

A quality education includes appropriate content and practical experience. Education is like a master key that unlocks many doors of opportunity. You can't buy it. It can't be given to you. Education comes from a consistent unending determination not to give-up no matter what comes your way. Sometimes, you have to keep going even when you don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. With hard work and diligence and paying attention to detail and practicing delayed gratification and saying no to what is harmful will eventually allow you to reach your educational goals. Education is something no one can take from you. It can't be stolen. It helps you to reach your full potential. Education allows you to make decisions. Education allows you to have choices. Education makes it possible for you to provide for your needs and to enjoy your wants in life!

I am an Educator who is also a Life-time Learner. There's always something new to learn. Success is a process involving movement and change rather than a destination!

Education allowed me to work in Georgia several years prior to working and living Internationally for over a decade. Education taught me how to learn an to teach myself. Education is not just facts and numbers. It's skills. Education empowered me to successfully learn a new language without going to school!

Every student needs to know the importance and value and privilege of working hard and studying to earn a good education.

I am thankful to currently teach students at Bishop Hall Charter School who elect to take Career Technical Education (CTE) and/or a World Language courses.

Business, Management, and Administration is a Career Cluster of CTE. Students of Bishop Hall pursue CTE's Business and Technology pathway. CTE prepares you for the world of work by introducing you to workplace competencies in a real-world, applied context. CTE prepares you for college and career success. This education pathway provides you with the necessary academic, technical, and employability skills to enter, compete, and advance in your education and career in a global economy!

World Languages prepares you to succeed in a global economy as you acquire a new set of skills that were not required for the success in prior generations. As a student of Spanish or French, you will gain regional expertise, cross-cultural competence, and advanced language proficiency skills that will enhance any career field, encourage international investment to our state, and develop a workforce that is successful in working on diverse international teams to collaborate and solve global problems. You will possess skills that will make your more competitive and move your resume to the top of the pile when applying for a job!

Greetings Students and Parents and Guardians! University of Georgia

I am a native of Thomas County and hold both a Bachelors of Science in Education with a major in Business Education and a Master of Education with an emphasis in Occupational Studies from the University of Georgia with the following additional endorsements: ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages), CVAE (Coordinator of Vocational Academic Education), TSS (Teacher Support Specialist), GIFTED, and DCT (Diversified Cooperative Training).

The Georgia Professional Standards Commission certified me to teach students the subjects of Spanish and Business Education. Regarding Spanish, the certification covers grades P-12. Regarding Business Education (Occupational Studies), the certification covers grades 7-12. Additionally, I am an experienced teacher of ESOL (P-12).

My education and work experience are both domestic and International. In Georgia, I have enjoyed teaching in both Oconee County and Thomas County. Internationally, I have enjoyed teaching, serving, ministering, working, and living in Mexico (3 months), France (7 months), the United Arab Emirates (9 years), and Nicaragua (1.5 years).

In Mexico, I taught middle school and high school students at the Instituto Thomas Jefferson. In Georgia, I taught at Oconee County High School. In the United Arab Emirates, I worked as an educational consultant for the University of Georgia and Manukau Institute of Technology for three years developing and implementing curricula for all of the Ministry of Education's Business Schools in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah. I was responsible for the professional development and training for more than 60 teachers from many Arab countries in the Gulf and the Middle East. Afterwards, I taught at the Institute of Applied Technology in the UAE for an additional six years. In Thomas County, I taught at Cross Creek Elementary and at Thomas County Middle School before moving to Bishop Hall Charter School to serve our students of Business, Spanish, and Work-based Learning while also getting students involved in our local Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter. I'm always ready for the next challenge!

I have a passion for teaching all students through various uses of technology while sharing multi-culturally diverse experiences gained while visiting and exploring many countries around the globe.

The world iBraswell Sombreros our classroom and some of the best educational classes take place in non-traditional ways. Education is fun, and I strive to encourage my children and students to become committed life-long learners who also have a desire to travel and to explore the globe.

In July 2020, I accepted the challenge to become TCMS's first distance learning teacher to teach Spanish I and II in addition to Career Explorations I, a CTE elective, to meet the ever growing demand of students in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 who have left the Traditional path of education and have chosen the new Virtual Flex and MERIT Hybrid Learning styles of learning. I had the privilege at TCMS to be the first teacher of French I in August 2021.

Life is full of changes! New opportunities and blessings come our way sometimes when least expected but always appreciated. For the 2021-2022 academic year, I will have the privilege of working at Bishop Hall Charter School as an educator of Business and Spanish. Additionally, I will serve as the Work-based Learning Coordinator and the sponsor of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter. It's going to be a challenging and rewarding new year experience for both myself and our students.

When I'm not actively teaching at Bishop Hall Charter School or involved in a project at my farm or home, I'm sometimes serving and ministering Internationally through the Ministry of Compassion To The Nations, Inc. or a local church. Jesus commands His disciples to "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Jesus alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one goes to God the Father except through Jesus the Christ.

We are surely going to have another great year of studying and learning and excelling in Thomas County!

Blessings, Compassion To The Nations, Inc.

Señor Braswell
