Retha Lee TOTY Dr. Retha Lee earns Bishop Hall Charter School's Teacher of the Year title

Bishop Hall Charter School proudly announces Dr. Retha Lee as the recipient of the esteemed Teacher of the Year award. Dr. Lee, a dedicated English educator, was honored with this distinction through the votes of her colleagues, recognizing her exceptional contributions to the school community.

Expressing her gratitude, Dr. Lee remarked, "I am deeply honored and humbled to be acknowledged by my peers and entrusted with representing Bishop Hall. Teaching has been my passion for many years, and receiving this award is truly a blessing."

Acknowledging Dr. Lee's commitment, Principal Dr. Verna Wiggins extended appreciation, saying, "Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to our school, colleagues, students, and parents."

With 28 years of experience in education, Dr. Lee's journey includes teaching in various institutions before joining Bishop Hall. Beyond her role at the school, she serves as an adjunct professor at Thomas University, nurturing both undergraduate and graduate students since 2015. Additionally, Dr. Lee extends her teaching beyond traditional settings, providing education to homebound children, emphasizing her dedication to inclusive education.

At the core of Dr. Lee's teaching philosophy lies a commitment to fostering connections between students and their communities. She endeavors to bridge classroom learning with real-world applications, instilling civic responsibility and empathy in her students.
