Thomas County Central High School’s chorus department, Thomas County Chorale, hosted its winter concert titled “Noel” Thursday, Dec. 7. Five choirs totaling more than 100 singers – including several soloists – performed in their formal attire. The concert was held at the Thomas County Board of Education auditorium. The concert opened with a rousing piece called “Joy: Medley of Carols” and ended with a somber reminder of peace and unity, “Ukuthula.” Community members in attendance enjoyed the sing-along portions led by student director, Matthew Edmonds. Several members of the community group Thomasville Singers joined the school’s StINGERS group for "And He Shall Purify" from Handel's “Messiah.” Program director Nicole Davis calls the performance “a joyous opening of the holiday season.”
