Dave Windon joins Thomas County Central from Colquitt County High School. He will serve as the Associate Head Coach, Tight Ends Coach, and Recruiting Coordinator for the Yellow Jackets. Dave will be teaching Health and PE at Thomas County Central High School. He spent the last 3 years as the Packers Varsity Running Backs Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. He spent 2016-2018 as the Director of Gulf South Scouting with National Preps, an NCAA-approved recruiting service. Before National Preps, he spent 4 years as the Recruiting Coordinator and Running Backs Coach at Georgia Military College (GMC). At GMC, he coached in several bowl games and one national championship. As GMC Recruiting Coordinator, Dave oversaw the entire recruitment process for prospective and current players. He helped produce 3 Power 5 Running Backs including Mario Alford (formerly of West Virginia, drafted by Cincinnati Bengals and playing for CFL Saskatchewan Roughriders), Akeem Judd (formerly of Ole Miss and Tennessee Titans), and Jovon Robinson (formerly of Auburn). Dave has assisted more than 100 student-athletes in pursuing their post-secondary educational and athletic goals in all level programs across the nation.
Prior to GMC, Dave coached three seasons at Carver High School and one season at Hardway High School, both in Columbus. While at Carver, he coached NFL Running Back Isaiah Crowell of the Oakland Raiders. Dave is a native of Newnan, GA, and a graduate of Newnan High, Georgia Military College (AS), and Capella University (BS).
