Students Meet Florida Attorney General

Thomas County Schools

Students at Thomas County Middle School in Kathy Payne and Patty McDonald's classes traveled to the Florida Capitol on Tuesday, May 14, and met in a one-on-one session with Florida's Attorney General, Ashley Moody, and staff members. During the session, Attorney General taught students about her role, duties, and responsibilities for the people of Florida. Students in both classes asked knowledgeable and informed questions regarding governmental duties as they had recently been discussing government in class.

The session ended with Attorney General Moody giving each student a commemorative challenge coin to remember their visit. After their visit, students explored the Capitol Complex and visited the viewing deck on the 22nd floor where they were able to see much of Tallahassee, including Florida State's campus and a variety of local art on display.
