Students in Miss Boykins' eighth-grade ELA class recently debated the topic “Should You Give Up Summer Vacation?” Students first read an article from Scholastic Scope Magazine about the pros and cons of year-round school. Students then had to complete the debate kit, write an argumentative piece citing evidence from the text, and present their perspectives in class.
