Thomas County School System Names BEE Partner of the Year

BEE Partner of the Year

Thomasville Toyota was named Thomas County School System’s BEE Partner of the Year for 2022-2023.  This is the second time Thomasville Toyota has been chosen as BEE Partner of the Year. The first time was in 2020.

The Business and Education Exchange (BEE) Partner of the Year is chosen from the outstanding BEE Partners who work with Thomas County Schools to strengthen the link among schools, businesses/industries, and the community.

The partnership between Thomasville Toyota and Thomas County Schools is strengthened by the support of Brad Ramsey, Thomasville Toyota’s Service and Parts Director.

“It is a true honor to be selected as the BEE Partner of the Year,” Ramsey said. “Thomasville Toyota is committed to providing resources to help the staff and students at Thomas County Schools. We are happy to be a part of their mission to educate students and help young people become productive members of society.”

The announcement was made at the May Board of Education meeting. Prior to the announcement, Director of Public Relations and Communications Melanie Davis shared a few of the goals of Business Education Exchange (BEE) Partners.

“Our goals are to increase student achievement, promote school attendance, and increase awareness of career opportunities within the community,” Davis said.  “Without the commitment of the business partners, meeting these goals would not be possible. The contributions from this business have helped more than 1,600 families and over 200 teachers and staff members throughout the year.”

Garrison-Pilcher Elementary and Cross Creek Elementary Schools nominated Thomasville Toyota for the distinguished BEE Partner of the Year Award. However, the support given affected the entire school system.

“Thomasville Toyota is eager to do anything to support our schools,” Parent Involvement Coordinator Misty Taylor said. “While they may thrive in sales, they also succeed in helping our school system in the many ways we need it. They have given several thousand dollars to help with school events, teacher appreciation, student incentives, workshops, and more. We are very grateful for their willingness to provide assistance.”

Thomasville Toyota was Thomas County Central High School’s Partner of the Semester this year and was nominated for their exceptional commitment and dedication to supporting the automotive program, Work-Based Learning (WBL) program, and students. Brandi Miranda, TCCHS Work-Based Learning and Youth Apprenticeship Coordinator, explained that the company has supported the high school for several years.

“Thomasville Toyota has gone above and beyond their regular business activities to support our programs and contribute to the success of our students,” Miranda said. “By donating to the automotive program and the WBL program, they have proven their commitment to supporting the development of our students’ skills and preparing them for their future careers. Their support extends beyond financial contributions and includes supporting students to attend automotive school, hiring WBL students, donating vehicles for students to work on, and sponsoring Skills USA competitions. All of these efforts provide opportunities for students and build a strong partnership between the business and the school.”

Superintendent Dr. Lisa Williams highlighted Thomasville Toyota’s benefits to the school system.

“Our Partner of the Year has built meaningful relationships, as well as donated invaluable time and financial resources which sets this partner apart from many others,” Dr. Williams said.  “Thomasville Toyota seeks to make their impact far reaching and valuable to every student within the Thomas County School System. We are very appreciative of the support they have provided to our system for many years and in a multitude of ways.”
