Join us in remembering the generations of African-Americans who overcame adversity in American society.  Black History Month was conceived in 1925 and celebrated during a week in February 1926.  In 1976, recognition was expanded to a month.  Students and teachers are encouraged to select material from our media center displays and use our resources to learn more about the accomplishments of the historical figures.
