Kindergartners in Ms. Angie Manning's class recently had a hands-on experience learning about plant life.  Eli's father brought peanut plants to the class and the students found the peanuts on the bushes, picked them, and then ate them after Ms. Angie boiled them.  What a great authentic learning experience!
