My best day in the classroom was when....

The best days are the days when the concept that I may have been teaching for 2 weeks (and maybe we've all been having a hard time with) finally begins to "click" with the students and they can apply what they have learned. I love when past students will come and see me and tell me that they have never forgotten something that I have taught!

Who or what inspired you to become a teacher or to work in education?

Both of my parents are teachers, both grandparents are teachers, my sister, and my aunt are teachers.

What profession other than your own would you most like to attempt?

I would love to become a florist when I retire!

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Spending time with my husband, Trey, and our 2 year old daughter, Ela. I also love working out and shopping!

What is one thing about you that likely would surprise your students?

I struggled in math throughout all of my years of school and had to get extra help every afternoon until I was in 6th grade. Now I LOVE math and enjoy teaching it. I also love teaching my students fun, new strategies for math that they can use and watching them use it.

What else would you like to share about yourself or your profession?

I am also certified to become a library/media specialist.
