Free Flu Vaccine Offering for Students and Staff; Vaccine Consent Form due Friday, January 26

Due to the drastic increase in flu cases throughout the nation and state, the Thomas County Health Department has agreed to return to our system to provide flu vaccines to our students. The Health Department will have flu vaccine clinic sites at TCMS and GP on Jan. 31. The school system will transport the participating students to the flu clinic sites on Jan. 31 to obtain their flu shot.

Participating students from HnH, TCMS, TCCHS, and BH will obtain their vaccinations between 7:30–10:00 AM at TCMS on Jan. 31. GP and CC participating students will receive their flu shots at GP between 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM on Jan. 31.

There will be no out-of-pocket cost for your child to receive the flu vaccine administered at the flu vaccine clinic sites on Jan. 31. If your child has health insurance, please provide the insurance information on the consent form, and your insurance will be billed for the vaccine. If you do not have insurance or if your insurance does not cover the cost of the flu vaccine, the vaccine will be provided to your child at no cost. Participation and receipt of the influenza vaccine through this program is voluntary.

If you would like to sign your child up to receive a flu vaccine on Jan. 31, you will need to complete the Parental Vaccine Consent Form linked below and return the form to your child’s school by Friday, Jan. 26. If the vaccine consent form is not signed and returned by Friday, Jan. 26, your child will not be able to participate in the flu vaccine clinic on Jan. 31.
