Students in Mrs. Holland's 5th-grade MERIT class participate in Google Hangout conversations with Mrs. Neal's 8th grade IB MYP (International Baccalaureate Middle Year's Programme) students. The collaboration between the two classes is designed to promote the understanding of service learning projects. Mrs. Neal's students spend a semester investigating, designing, implementing, and reflecting on an independent project that will meet needs in their community of Bartow, FL. Through the weekly Google Hangout conversations, Mrs. Holland's class has an opportunity to witness the process and ask questions. Both classes are excited to work together as problem solvers.
