TCCHS proudly announces the Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2020

graduation

Seniors will be issued four tickets each to limit the number of ceremony attendees.  No additional tickets or seating will be available at the stadium.  A person must present a ticket to be allowed in the stadium entrance.  Children under the age of six are not encouraged to attend.

Based on the current Executive Order, those who are 65 and over and/or who are medically fragile should not attend the ceremony and instead take advantage of the television or livestream broadcast of the graduation ceremony from the comfort of their homes.

All attendees will be subject to social distancing requirements based on the latest recommended guidelines.  Both sides of the stadium and a portion of the field will be used for seating. The seating will be mapped out for guests. Family groups of four will be allowed to sit together. Family groups must sit a minimum of six feet apart.

Masks will be required for all graduates, guests, and school personnel who are assisting with graduation. Students will be required to wear the masks at all times except when they come forward to receive their diploma. A professional photographer will be onsite to photograph each graduate receiving his or her diploma.

In lieu of the traditional processional, seniors will be directed to their seat on the field upon arriving at the stadium in order to provide for social distancing.

Graduates and families will not be allowed to congregate in the stadium, on the field, or in the parking lot, before or after the ceremony.

The ceremony will maintain the tradition of including speeches from Valedictorian Joshua Stephens and Salutatorian Kaleb Ward.

The plans for graduation are contingent on the situation at the time of the ceremony with the COVID-19 pandemic and any additional Executive Orders that may be issued by Governor Kemp.

Graduates have the option to elect not to participate in the in-person graduation ceremony. Graduates electing not to participate in the ceremony may make an appointment with TCCHS Principal Mrs. Trista Jones to receive their diploma individually with the family present at TCCHS. If students would prefer not to participate in the in-person graduation or the individual session with Mrs. Jones, they may pick up their diploma at TCCHS during normal school hours. Diplomas may also be mailed to students at their request.

Detailed instructions for graduates regarding the graduation ceremony will be forthcoming from the high school administration.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to honor our seniors in the best possible way based on the public health crisis and school closure. We are so proud of our students and congratulate each member of the Class of 2020! We look forward to honoring them soon in-person.
