Rocky is our classroom pet. He is a yellow-eared slider turtle hatched in August of 2016. Rescued from a squirrel that must have thought him a walnut, Rocky has attended 6th and 7th grades in Florida, and has skipped to high school. One interesting fatoid: Rocky may actually be a girl! It is nearly impossible to determine the sex of a turtle until they are a few years old, so we may just have to change his?/her? name in the near future.

Rocky enjoys swimming, splashing, digging, eating, and showing off for students.
