    • Speech Language Practice

Many Parents ask what is a good way to work on their child's speech and/or language skills. Here are some suggestions:

      1. Vocabulary: describe things around your home or while you are riding in a car. See if your child can guess what you are describing. Have your child do the same

      2. Articulation: Have you child read one paragraph from a favorite book ir AR book out loud each night. Find at least 10 words with their target speech sound(s) and practice those.OR while riding in the car have your child try and spot things outside of the car with their target speech sound(s).

      3. Comprehension: For following directions, have your child help you make someone easy in the kitchen (Koolaid, brownies, peanut butter and jelly sandwich). Give you child multi-step directions (after you get the pitcher, open the packet; before you get the butter knife, get the peanut butter out of the pantry). ALSO, ask yoru child the WH questions about their AR book (who it is about, where the story takes place, what happened/what is it about, when it takes place)
