Welcome Delta MERIT!
Dear Parents and Students:
We are looking forward to a wonderful and productive year with you and your child. In order to begin on a successful note, we are asking for you to carefully read this newsletter. Since lifelong success depends in part on learning to make responsible choices, we will be keeping with the discipline plan outlined in your agenda book. (We do not want our kids ending up in the “Jackets Nest”.)
We believe that this discipline plan affords students guidance in making good decisions about their behavior, therefore providing an opportunity to learn in a positive, nurturing environment. Our students deserve the most positive educational climate possible for their growth, and we know that together we will make a difference in this process.
We believe that communication between parents, teachers, and students is essential to learning. We truly look forward to working with each and every one of you. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Please read the following information carefully!!!!
Homeroom and Bus Load Rules
In order to afford students ample time for reading assignments, homework, projects, and test preparations; students will be expected to remain silent and use this time to work on academics. Students will work on assignments, review notes, or read. There is no exception to this rule!
Academic Honesty
Students on MERIT are to exemplify the highest level of integrity in their work. Students should not copy and paste someone else’s work nor copy homework. By doing so, they are in violation of copyright and plagiarism laws. All work turned in should be student’s original work which includes test, quizzes, projects, and writing assignments. Violating this will result in a zero and possible probation on MERIT.
Agenda Book
Each student will be issued an agenda book which must be carried at all times. The agenda book was designed to help you with understanding the rules, directions, and expectations of everyone at TCMS. It is also a wonderful tool to help students keep track of homework. The teachers are asking that all students use their agenda book daily to record homework, projects, and tests. Parents, please check the agenda book daily for homework, grades, or notes for parents.
Attendance
Attendance is important! Absences or early sign-outs can impact success in MERIT. Please do your best to schedule appointments/activities so that they will not interfere with class instruction.
Let’s have the best year yet!
