I am very excited to begin this 2023-2024 school year at Thomas County Middle School. This will be my 8th year teaching 5th grade. Previously, I have had the chance to work with 1st and 8th grades.  Our Bravo MERIT team consists of four teachers: Mrs. Rigdon (Math), Mrs. Crew (ELA), Mrs. Lanatta (Science), and I (Social Studies). I sponsor a new club, Future City Builders, and I assist with TCMS Student Council. 

I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education with an emphasis in Science and Social Studies. I am also certified in Middle Grades Math, Early Childhood Education, and Gifted. In 2018, I graduated with my Master of Education in Math and Science from Valdosta State University.  I just graduated in December of 2022 with my Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction through Piedmont University.  

I just got married this summer, so I am enjoying life with my new husband, Don, and daughter, Zoey. In my spare time, I love baking. I also spend time with family and friends as much as I can. 

I look forward to meeting and working with the upcoming 5th-grade MERIT students at TCMS! "Go Jackets!"
