“It is not your ordinary history lesson.  It’s engaging and fun for students during this third-grade unit of study,” says Lynnette Fykes.  Mrs. Fykes, Morgan Taylor, Jen Mobley, and Marnee Stone revive Ancient Greece for their Cross Creek students.  In addition to dressing up in various Greek costumes, students rotated through different sessions to learn more about the government and other areas of the Ancient Greek culture.  Students built a catapult, made clay medallions, constructed Hoplite shields, learned how to write their names in the Greek alphabet, and held a mini-Olympics. A grand feast was the culmination activity.
