The Thomas County Middle School High Techs Lego League Team competed on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Southwest Regional Competition hosted by Monroe High School in Albany Georgia. The team won best overall (Champions Award) and highest robot performance, coming away with two trophies. Twenty-two teams were present at the event, and split into two groups for competition.
The theme this year was City Shapers, where teams had to address a problem with a building or public space in their community. They chose to address the lack of equipment and activities for people with special needs at our local parks. These students developed an outdoor sensory wall in collaboration with multiple local experts, and are exploring ways to implement their solution.
