Marshes, beaches, and bears - Oh my!  This year's theme for the Georgia National Fair Bear Writing Competition is "Fair Bear Visits Georgia's Coast".  This annual writing contest open to fourth, fifth, and sixth-graders in Georgia, allows students to submit a creative writing essay based on the theme of the contest.

Fourth-grader Keya Patel's entry was selected as first-place for Thomas County Schools.  Her writing will be forwarded to the Georgia National Fair for the statewide competition.  Maggie Cook's entry earned second place at the local level.
