Students Give Back for the Holidays

Teachers and students from Thomas County Middle School found many ways to give back to the community this holiday season.

Students at TCMS collected 7,138 canned goods for the Salvation Army during the canned food drive. Two fifth grade classrooms donated the most cans. Mrs. Rieber's homeroom donated 565 food items and Mrs. Buechner's homeroom gave 564 items.

The TCMS Media Center collected over 300 books to distribute to the children participating in the Shop With a Yellow Jacket event at Thomas County Central High School.

Sixth grade MERIT students collected over 600 pairs of socks during #socktober in conjunction with Kid President. Socks were donated to the Treehouse Children's Advocacy Center and Vashti.

Students from TCMS have been ringing the Salvation Army kettle bell throughout Thomas County.

The Builder’s Club is collecting toys for the annual Toys for Tots campaign.

These community service projects allow students to truly learn the value of giving to others.
