Amelia Gallo, from the Thomas County Historical Society, recently visited TCMS to discuss developing thesis statements with sixth grade MERIT students. While using research information on the Berlin Wall, students discussed aspects of thesis statements to determine a stance on this historical topic. Students will take this knowledge and apply it to their National History Day presentations as well as other argumentative writings.
