First Lego League

Michael Clapper, teacher from TCCHS, visited Mrs. Michelle Brinn and Mr. Ashley Palmer's First Lego League Team at Thomas County Middle School to teach them about water potability, transportation of water, and usage ideas.  Students brainstormed ideas for this years FLL challenge using the information they gained. He challenged students to think of ways that their project could help others, and to think of ways to modify their idea to make it less cumbersome.

These students also visited the Wastewater Treatment Plant and the City of Thomasville Water Plant. Students learned how water is cleaned and then discharged back into the river. They also learned how the city residents receive water and how it is turned back on during a power outage.

Pictured below in the first image were students visiting the City of Thomasville Water Plant.  On the back row from left to right: Carson Barwick, Ben Castillo, Gavin Melnick, along with two City of Thomasville Utility employees. On the front row from left to right are Andy Barrentine, Cody Barrentine, Lindsey Norman, Cody Johnson, and Caden Reagan.
