8th grade MERIT Christmas Ornament Presentation

TCMS Merit

MERIT teachers, parents, and 8th grade MERIT seniors gathered around the TCMS Christmas tree recently for a very meaningful occasion. 8th grade MERIT students at Thomas County Middle School created individual ornaments commemorating their journey through the program. Students designed ornaments that were representative of their favorite MERIT memory or their greatest accomplishment throughout their four years at TCMS. Students presented their ornaments at the very first MERIT Christmas Ornament Presentation Night and hung their ornament on the tree. The night was packed full of memorable happenings. The TCMS band played their Christmas Parade Sequence. A TCMS chorus member, Dawson Carver, sang “O Holy Night.” Parents, students, and MERIT teachers alike were adorned with Christmas attire. A great time was had by all! “Nothing makes us happier, as a MERIT family, than to celebrate the MERIT journey with our students.” stated Dana Studdard, MERIT coordinator. The presentations were followed by Christmas cookies and punch! The ornaments will remain on the tree to be observed by all, until Christmas break.

Pictured below is John Adam Singleton presenting his ornament and telling of his favorite MERIT moment while at TCMS.
