Students in Mrs. Angela Hutchings and Ms. Kelli Dorminey’s 3rd grade classes at Cross Creek Elementary recently took a trip on “The Magic School Bus” to the center of the Earth. This adventure allowed students to see first-hand the effects of weathering and erosion. The group traveled to Providence Canyon in Lumpkin, Ga. It is one of the most remarkable natural wonders and historical sites that can be found in Georgia. Students enjoyed a hands-on experience that deepened their knowledge of the different types of soils, and saw how weathering and erosion slowly engrave and perfect our Earth into a work of art.
