After reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, students in Ms. Dorminey, Miss Curry, Mrs. Norris, and Miss Futch's classes had a visit from Mr. Sean Smith, owner of Big Adventure Outfitters in Thomasville.  Mr. Smith talked to the students about camping, hiking, and equipment used to survive in the wilderness such as tents, cooking supplies, water filtration systems, and backpacks.  Students were able to ask questions, try out the equipment, and hear about Mr. Smith's personal hiking adventures.
