It's a Yellow Jacket Christmas CDs

This Christmas season at TCCHS teachers are lending a helping hand in a unique way: by sharing their voices. A group of teachers came together to record a CD in order to raise funds for the annual Shop with a Yellow Jacket (SWAYJ) project. The CD is titled “It’s a Yellow Jacket Christmas 2014” and CDs are $10 apiece.

TCCHS Prepares for SWAYJ

The most wonderful day of the year is currently in the works at Thomas County Central High School. Shop with a Yellow Jacket, also known as SWAYJ, is being prepared for community kids this Christmas. “Students and teachers come together to help the less fortunate,” Renae Moore, TCCHS teacher and a SWAYJ coordinator, said. “It’s a time where we come together and show what it means to be a true Yellow Jacket.”

Robotics Teams Compete

The TCCHS robotics team, CyberStingers Gold, members are Jameson Smith, A.J. Rowell, Austin Ridley, Chris Geer, and Steven Tran. The team won the Finalist Alliance trophy at the FTC qualifier sponsored by L.E.D. Robotics at Southern Polytechnic State University the weekend of December 6.

FBLA attends Fall Leadership conference

The Thomas County Central High School Future Business Leaders of America leadership team participated in the Fall Leadership conference Nov. 18-19 in Athens.

Science Fair Winners

The Thomas County Middle School Science Fair was held recently. There were more than 200 projects entered by 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Judges came from Florida State University, Thomas University, Thomas County Central High School, Scholars Academy, and Law Enforcement as well as retired teachers.  Click "More Information" for details.

Lego League Champions!

All four teams from Thomas County participating in the regional Lego League competition came home winners!  One team, coached by Dana Studdard and Kim Simmons, won first place out of thirty one teams and has advanced to the Super Regionals competition.  This team, called "The Block Busters", created products for the blind and have been endorsed by Industries for the Blind.  Click "More Information" below to see pictures and details from the event.
