Honors Chemistry is a laboratory science course in which students investigate the composition of matter and the physical and chemical changes it undergoes. This course provides students with an understanding of chemical principles and skills that are needed for college.  Honors Chemistry goes at a faster pace and covers more topics to prepare for AP Chemistry. The study of chemistry includes laboratory investigation, problem solving activities, textbook study, lecture and class discussion.  Students will complete a long term science project that will count as multiple test and project grades for each nine week grading period.  Students are also required to read an outside novel and other reading selections as part of the Common Core Reading standards for science.
