Thomas County Middle School fifth graders participated in a GREAT graduation today.  Sergeant Leila Spires, Resource Officer at Thomas County Middle School, collaborates with health teachers, Jill Russell and Lee Taylor, to teach fifth graders once or twice a week throughout each nine weeks about the GREAT Program.  GREAT stands for Gang Resistance Education and Training.  Sergeant Spires teaches students to resist not only drugs and alcohol, but warns students of the dangers of becoming involved with gangs and gang-related activity.
